8th Rajasthan Science Congress

Day 1: Inaugural session was warmly commenced by singing ‘Sharde Varde’, sung by students. The invited speakers lightened the lamp to mark the beginning of the program followed by a speech by Dr. Ashok Gupta, Chancellor, IIS (deemed to be University), Jaipur introducing the guests. He remarked " Science is paving it's way in the future” and with this, he commenced the 8th Rajasthan Science Congress.
Dr. Tarun Kumar Jain, then addressed the audience of the Rajasthan Science Congress. He talked about the start of Science Congress and said when in India 100th Science Congress was being held, it was Rajasthan's first and quoted, "Jab Jago Tabhi Savera".
The session was attended by students from various colleges, schools and universities.
Ms. Mughda Sinha, IAS, Secretary, DST, Rajasthan, then gave an interesting speech in the inaugural session highlighting the Government role in providing jobs, internships & workshops in her speech of inaugural session. She also talked about Science and time’s dynamic structure and saying so she quoted Einstein,” Change is constant but time is relevant". She talked about age of imagination which is going to begun.
Keynote Address by
Dr. Sandeep Sancheti

Topic: Education 4.0 - Redefining the Higher Education
Dr. Sandeep Sancheti in his presentation on Education 4.0 - Redefining the Higher Education and in the reference of New Education Policy, he talked about his own experience stating the importance of physics as it connects with everything. And rightly quoted, "one pill for all the ill”. He talked about how everything is getting multi dimensional and discussed about FAST (Faculty, Autonomy. Students, Technology) Academic Bank Credit (ABC) with potential of using anytime, anywhere, in any mode and in any language. He also told what are learning process and functional transformation.
Technical Session I
Dr. P.C. Pancharia Director, CSIR – CEERI, Pilani, delivered a speech on Biomimectic system for food safety assessment in 8th Rajasthan Science Congress. He gave a speech about green technology related solutions. He said that emerging new technology system is inspired from nature, that even Al (Artificial Intelligence) is also inspired from biological intelligence of humans. He said many thing about milk like its supply chain, milk adulteration, transfer technology" many more. He gave data analysis about milk adulterations and gave an interesting presentation on the same. Students and participants asked questions and looked keen for the topic.
Dr. Ram Swaroop Sharma (Dr. R.S. Sharma) OSD, PMO, Department of Atomic Energy, New Delhi, in his presentation on how earth works said, to remain with science you have first learn to love it. He talked about earth's structure and it's observation. He mentioned Alfred Wegner, a German observant’s hypothesis about his observation of earth. He told the participants about Earth measuring different ages, exploring the topology in brief and changes, the earth keeps experiencing.
Dr. S.K. Gupta, OSD, PMO, Department of Atomic Energy, New Delhi , Department of Atomic Energy in his presentation on opportunities in DAE and collaborative programs with Academic Institution. Further, he talked about DAE Spin-off technologies and it's display & Amp; Dissemination through Academic Institution for students betterment, telling them about the opportunities which are presented for them through his presentation. He also talked about national security, water resources, health care, fuel cycle & food agriculture and discussed how they helped farmers in growing fruits and provide water to the villagers by their technologies. He quoted, "Har Ghar Mein Jal". They have 6 development sector and 5 sectors at different places.
He talked about LIGO (Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave-observatory). and told about their collaboration with FNAL and its resources for students and faculties. He told about DGFS (Dal Graduate Fellowship Scheme), and about the opportunities it provide to the students. He told about Mega Science Projects, Vigyan Samagam, Neutron & Particle Beam Research, research reactor of Apsara Tata Astro Research Activity.
Dr. Pamposh Kumar, Scientist ‘F’, National Council for Science and Technology, Communication, New Delhi presented a presentation on Science Media Competencies for Risk Communication & Sustainability Reporting. He in start said in science Congress they don't talk about science but solution science which can be connected to people, and could be of help of the people. He quoted", "Today the concept of literacy comprises in many media” by Umberto Face. He told about media reporting and said to eco reporting is misleading when it's not scientifically correct.
He talked about science media put forward for the people. He said science literacy is going to change form and science media is going to take it forward. He talked about the emergence of science media and social construction of ecological concern. At the end, he talked about eco media reporting.
